Provides tactical and operational leadership for the lumber products business at PRI's Lumber Products industry. This position is accountable for managing manufacturing operations, business growth, safety compliance, quality standards, workforce development, and customer satisfaction to meet sales and net income objectives. The role also advances PRI's mission of equipping inmate workers with valuable job skills and work experience.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Operations, or a related field preferred. Five to ten 10 years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing, operations, production, quality, or a related field. Profit & Loss (P&L) management experience required.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with employees, management, customers, vendors, and Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) personnel. Ability to interpret and communicate complex business, technical, and regulatory information.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and other business applications, with the ability to become proficient in Microsoft Dynamics 365 within six months of hire. Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate operational and financial data, develop forecasts, manage inventory and production planning, and utilize reporting and business intelligence tools to support effective decision-making and operational performance.
Demonstrated ability to analyze complex operational, production, and personnel challenges, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions. Ability to plan, coordinate, and optimize production activities, workforce utilization, and equipment resources while managing multiple priorities and making sound decisions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of manufacturing operations, quality management systems, budgeting, inventory control, production scheduling, safety programs, and regulatory compliance. Experience with continuous improvement methodologies, including Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen, is preferred.
Proven leadership, organizational, and project management skills with the ability to train, develop, and motivate others. Ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt to changing business needs, and achieve operational and financial objectives. Must successfully complete all required FDC and PRI training programs.
