Roxtec Inc. in the United States is seeking a Welder I to perform basic welding of precision assemblies in carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum while prioritizing safety and quality.

You will learn Roxtec procedures, interpret drawings, and develop skills under supervision, with room for growth and a strong team dynamic. The position requires reading CAD drawings, operating basic measuring tools, and maintaining a clean, safe work area.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and understand mechanical (CAD) drawings.
• Strong written and verbal communication in English.
• Basic knowledge of welding techniques and safe work practices.
• Ability to use measuring tools (tape, calipers, gauges).
• Willingness to develop proficiency in Roxtec welding procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic weld assemblies in carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum per Roxtec standards using GMAW-P and GTAW.
• Learn Roxtec welding procedures and quality standards.
• Grind welds per drawings and deburr as required.
• Cut, prepare, and assemble material; ensure accuracy and safety.
• Complete shop orders on time with precise time and material entries.
• Coordinate with fabrication team to finish orders.
• Conduct visual quality inspections and document results.
• Report defects to the welder or foreman and follow safety practices.

Job Summary

The Welder I performs basic fitting and welding of precision assemblies in carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum with a strong focus on safety, quality, and skill development. This position works under regular direction from experienced welders or shop leadership and independently completes defined tasks after receiving instruction. The Welder I is expected to develop proficiency in Roxtec welding procedures, fabrication methods, drawing interpretation, and quality standards.

Essential Job Functions

• Performs basic weld assemblies in carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum according to Roxtec standards using GMAW-P and GTAW processes.
• Learns Roxtec welding procedures and quality standards.
• Grinding of welds per drawing, shop or debur or instructions as required.
• Cut, prepare, and assemble material as required.
• Break sharp edges of finished assemblies by grinding or other means.
• Complete assigned shop orders in a timely manner reporting exact time and material used for each operation.
• Coordinate with other operators in the Fabrication Shop to complete shop orders.
• Performing visual quality inspections & documentation according to Roxtec standards.
• Notify the responsible welder or foreman of defects seen during course of work.
• Use proper PPE as directed by the Fabrication Shop Supervisor and as required based on the task.
• Maintain a safe and organized work area following proper safety practices.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Excellent mechanical aptitude required.
• Basic knowledge of welding techniques.
• Ability to read and understand mechanical (CAD) drawings.
• Ability to use basic measuring & inspection tools such as: measuring tape, square, calipers, go / no go gauges & radius gauges.
• Must have a strong focus on safety and quality.
• Good organizational, problem solving and follow-through skills are a plus.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision on assigned tasks.
• The successful candidate will have 90 days after their initial hire date to pass the required welder qualification test according to Roxtec International standards.

Education and Experience

• High School diploma or equivalent
