Job summary

Corning is seeking an Industrial Water & Wastewater Treatment Technician to operate, monitor, and maintain water and wastewater systems supporting production. You will collect samples, run routine lab analyses, inspect equipment, and ensure compliance with environmental permits and company standards.

  • Able to read P&IDs, operating procedures, and technical manuals.
  • Preferred experience with industrial water or wastewater treatment.
  • Familiarity with SCADA/DCS systems and electrical/mechanical troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor water and wastewater equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and permits.
  • Collect samples and perform routine laboratory analysis.
  • Maintain logs and reports of plant operations.
  • Respond to alarms and equipment malfunctions and coordinate maintenance.

You will be a part of advancing critical U.S. supply chains and delivering unmatched quality and reliability to customers.**Purpose of the position: **The Industrial Water & Wastewater Treatment Technician is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining industrial water and wastewater treatment systems to support production operations and ensure compliance with environmental permits and company standards.Key ResponsibilitiesOperate and monitor facilities water and wastewater equipmentMonitor operation of the water and wastewater treatment facilities, ensuring compliance with facilities strict quality and uptime requirementsCollaborate with key internal and 3rd party stakeholders on ways to improve efficiency, quality and reliability of water and wastewater systemsCollect samples and perform routine laboratory analysisInspect equipment and facilities to identify maintenance needs or operational issuesMaintain accurate logs, reports, and records of plant operationsEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations and permit requirementsRespond to alarms, equipment malfunctions, and emergency situations as neededSuggest and implement improvements to maintenance processes and equipment to enhance reliability and efficiency.QualificationsMinimum 2 years’ experience working in an industrial settingExperience working with pumps, motors, blowers, compressorsHigh school diploma or GED required.Ability to read P&IDs, operating procedures, and technical manualsBasic computer skillsPreferred QualificationsIndustrial water or wastewater treatment experience preferredFamiliarity with SCADA/DCS systemsMechanical, electrical, or instrumentation troubleshooting experienceKnowledge of environmental regulationsEngineering degree or technical training in industrial maintenance, environmental technology, or a related field preferredWork Schedule2-3-2 pitman schedule, rotating days and nights every 2 weeks with flexibility to work, overtime, and weekends as needed to support production schedules and maintenance needs.Joining our team as an industrial water & wastewater treatment technician offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the renewable energy industry and be part of a dynamic and innovative company.
