Job summary

Black & Veatch Corporation seeks a Pursuit Manager to lead the preparation, assembly, review, and submittal of RFP responses for a range of small to medium projects.

You will collaborate with the sales manager, project director, and project manager to define strategy, schedules, and win themes, ensuring deliverables meet governance and budgets while leveraging our hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of engineering, project execution or technical pursuit management experience.
• All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (criminal/civil background check, drug screen, motor vehicle records search).

Responsibilities

• Responsible for management (preparation, assembly, review, and submittal) of responses to Request for Proposals (RFP) in accordance with governance.
• Assigned proposals may range from small to medium scope and generally have low to medium risk profiles.
• Typically, this pursuit manager has a primary solution they focus on to build the needed competencies for advancement.
• Interface with the sales manager, the project director, and the project manager to set the proposal execution strategy and schedule, assemble proposal response team, and develop the project execution plan and value proposition/win strategies.
• Ensure conceptual design and business enablement teams are held accountable to provide deliverables in accordance with the proposal development schedule.
• Monitor and manage pursuit team expenditures to align with approved budgets.
• Participate in cost review, facilitate risk determination/mitigation and leadership approval discussions.
• Assist in negotiations as requested
• Facilitate discussion and actions to transition proposal basis information to the project execution team upon contract signature.

The Opportunity

• Responsible for management (preparation, assembly, review, and submittal) of responses to Request forProposals (RFP) in accordance with governance.
• Assigned proposals may range from small to medium scope and generally have low to medium risk profiles
• Typically, this pursuit manager has a primary solution they focus on to build the needed competencies foradvancement.
• This professional interfaces directly with and provides support to the sales manager, the project director, andthe project manager to set the proposal execution strategy / schedule, assemble proposal response team,and develop the project execution plan and value proposition / win strategies.
• Ensure conceptual design and business enablement functional teams (estimating, project controls,construction, procurement, subcontracts, LIFTT) are held accountable to provide deliverables in accordancewith proposal development schedule.
• Monitors and manages pursuit team expenditures to align with approved budgets.
• Participate in cost review. Facilitate risk determination / mitigation and leadership approval discussions.
• Assist in negotiations as requested
• Facilitate discussion and actions to transition proposal basis informationto the project execution team upon contract signature.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of engineering, project execution or technical pursuit management experience

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical project execution field.

Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based upon manager discretion, job performance and work assignments.
