Job summary

Eastern Shore Community College, a member of the Virginia Community College System, invites applications for adjunct faculty positions. In this role you will plan and teach courses in an in-person setting to students from diverse academic backgrounds, and collaborate with staff to support student success.

Salary is determined within the VCCS framework. Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent (associate degree preferred) and five years of occupational experience.

Job Description

Eastern Shore Community College is a member of the Virginia Community College System. The College serves the residents of Accomack County and Northampton County as a two-year institution of higher learning. Operating under policies established by the State Board for Community Colleges and the Eastern Shore Community College Board, the college is financed primarily with state funds, supplemented by contributions from the two counties and the Eastern Shore Community College Foundation.

Adjunct faculty members are responsible for effectively planning and teaching courses in a classroom environment to students with a variety of academic backgrounds and experiences. All faculty members must be skilled in oral and written communications and must be able to work cooperatively with other staff members.

The intention of this posting is to collect applications for current and future appointments.

Please note: This wide salary range reflects the diverse faculty ranks within the Virginia Community College System ( VCCS ). Final salary determination and placement within this range are based on the candidate’s academic credentials and occupational experience as evaluated via the VCCS -10 process.

Special Assignments

May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.

KSA's/Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, preferably an Associate degree or equivalent.

• Demonstrates potential in teaching effectiveness
