Responsibilities

  • Apply finishes to products on a moving production line using spray guns.
  • Maintain spray technique, coverage, and consistency to ensure a smooth, high-quality finish.
  • Prepare surfaces by removing rust, dirt, grease, and contaminants; perform power washing, sanding, or chemical cleaning as required.
  • Mix paints, primers, and coatings according to specifications; adjust as needed for thickness and colour.
  • Monitor production line for defects; perform touch-ups to meet quality standards.
  • Collaborate with the production team to maintain a steady workflow and address quality concerns.
  • Adhere to all safety policies; properly use PPE and handle hazardous materials.

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Industrial Painter to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for applying industrial coatings to a variety of products, ensuring consistent coverage, proper coating thickness, and adherence to established quality standards.

Trackless Vehicles provides all required painting equipment, safety equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE) necessary to safely and effectively perform the duties of the Industrial Painter role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply paint, industrial coatings, and other finishes to a variety of products as they move continuously along a production line using spray guns.
  • Maintain proper spray technique, coverage, and consistency while keeping pace with the speed of the moving line. Ensure all products receive a smooth, uniform, and high quality finish.
  • Clean and prepare surfaces for painting by removing rust, dirt, grease, and other contaminants. Perform preparation methods such as power washing, sanding, sandblasting, or chemical cleaning as required.
  • Accurately mix paints, primers, and other coatings according to established specifications and formulas. Adjust mixtures as required to achieve the proper consistency, colour, and finish.
  • Continuously monitor products as they move through the production line to identify defects, inconsistencies, or areas requiring additional coverage. Perform touch-ups or reapply coatings as necessary to ensure products meet company and customer quality standards.
  • Work closely with production team members to maintain a steady workflow and ensure products are properly coated as they move through the production line. Communicate any quality or production concerns promptly.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and applicable regulations. Properly use required PPE and follow safe handling procedures when working with paints, coatings, chemicals, and other hazardous materials.
Skills And Qualifications
  • Previous experience in industrial painting, or a related field is preferred. Experience painting products on a moving production line is considered a strong asset.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, production-focused environment while maintaining consistent quality and keeping pace with a moving line.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify surface imperfections, coating defects, and inconsistencies.
  • Ability to safely and effectively operate spray guns, painting equipment, and related tools.
  • Willingness and ability to quickly learn and adapt to new painting techniques, equipment, products, and processes.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to follow instructions, safety procedures, and established production processes.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and handle materials weighing up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Ability to frequently bend, kneel, reach, stretch, and work in various positions.
  • Ability to perform repetitive movements and tasks for extended periods while maintaining accuracy and quality.
  • Ability to safely work around moving production equipment and machinery.
  • Good physical stamina and ability to maintain productivity in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Work Environment
  • Work is performed in a manufacturing/production environment with products continuously moving along a production line.
  • Regular exposure to paint, industrial coatings, chemicals, fumes, and dust associated with the painting and surface preparation process.
  • Work may involve elevated noise levels and working near production machinery and equipment.
  • Required to wear appropriate PPE and protective equipment, including company provided safety and painting equipment.
  • Must follow all company safety procedures.
