Job summary
Xcel Energy seeks a driven engineer to support operations at a waste-to-energy and biomass facility in Ashland, Oregon. You will own capital projects from scoping through close-out while also troubleshooting day-to-day equipment issues on-site, within a small cross-functional team.
The role blends project management with hands-on reliability engineering, requiring clear communication, budgeting insight, and a practical “get it done” mindset across aging plant systems and modern controls.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET preferred).
- Experience with power generation, utilities, or heavy industrial environments is preferred.
- FE/PE licensure is a nice-to-have.
- Experience with legacy equipment and switchgear is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Lead capital and maintenance projects from scope, budgeting, through bid, execution, and close-out.
- Coordinate with plant management and maintenance staff for scheduling and communication.
- Support reliability engineering activities including troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
- Assist operations in diagnosing abnormal readings and plant anomalies.
- Manage forecasts and reporting in line with internal processes.
