Job summary

SpaceX in Hawthorne, CA is seeking an Industrial Security Analyst (CSSO/CPSO) to join a multidisciplinary team. The role focuses on protecting program information, managing classifications, and coordinating with government customers to ensure compliance.

You will handle personnel clearances, OPSEC plans, and security SOPs, with on-site work required. A TS clearance with SCI eligibility is required, along with readiness for polygraph, travel, and occasional extended hours.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or 3+ years of security experience in NISPOM-related responsibilities.
  • Experience within an SCI or collateral environment is required.
  • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility and willingness for polygraph/security testing.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Mission Management and government representatives to ensure program deliverables are met.
  • Partner with Mission Management and engineering teams to ensure their understanding of program classification requirements and protections.
  • Assist with compliance activities including self-inspections, audits, and inquiries.
  • Coordinate personnel clearances for programs and review clearance packages for accuracy.
  • Assist with CONOPS, OPSEC Plans, and related documents for government approval.
  • Coordinate transportation plans for classified materials and assets.
  • Maintain up-to-date security SOPs and ensure policy adherence.
  • Support required trainings and briefings (INDOC, annual refresher).
  • Ensure reporting of foreign travel/contacts and other sensitive information.
  • Support ITAR-related requirements and export control compliance.

INDUSTRIAL SECURITY ANALYST (CSSO/CPSO)

SpaceX is looking for a multidisciplinary Industrial Security Officer to serve as a Security Analyst within our Hawthorne, CA office. This is a chance to fill a critical role within a dynamic and high-tempo environment working on programs pushing the boundaries of industry and technology. A successful candidate will be a self-starter and problem-solver and will possess the ability to convey security requirements to a diverse group of technical personnel.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Partner with Mission Management and government representatives to ensure program deliverables are met
  • Partner with Mission Management and engineering teams to ensure their understanding of the program classification requirements and protections needed
  • Assist with compliance related activities to include self-inspections, audits, and inquiries
  • Participate in aspects of the initiation, management and upkeep of personnel clearances for responsible programs
  • Assist with CONOPS, OPSEC Plans, PPIPs, MFRs, etc. as needed for approval by government customer
  • Coordinate transportation plans and courier documents for any transportation of classified program materials or assets
  • Ensure security SOPs are up to date, approved, and being followed
  • Support all annual refresher, INDOC, and exit briefings as needed in accordance with policy and government customer requirements
  • Assist with the review of clearance packages for accuracy and completeness and initiates follow up actions as necessary
  • Ensure all reportable information to including foreign travel and foreign contact, financial, personal conduct, etc., are up to date
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree; OR 3+ years of security experience performing NISPOM-related security responsibilities in lieu of a degree
  • Experience performing responsibilities specifically within an SCI or collateral environment
  • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility. Note that an active clearance may provide the opportunity for you to work on sensitive SpaceX missions. If so, you will be subject to pre-employment drug and random drug and alcohol testing
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree
  • Strong knowledge of the NISPOM, DoD SAP Security Manuals, Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs), and related security policies and procedures
  • Familiarity with DISS, NBIS, TALON and/or Scattered Castles
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • This position is based in Hawthorne, CA and requires being onsite - remote work not considered
  • Ability to favorably complete a U.S. Government CI scope polygraph
  • Must be able to possess and maintain a CompTIA Security+ certification.
  • Ability to travel in support of mission requirements
  • Willingness to work extended hours or weekends as needed in support of mission-critical deadlines and milestones
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Pay Range:

  • Level 1: $85,000.00 - $115,000.00
  • Level 2: $105,000.00 - $140,000.00

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX. You may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of company stock or long-term cash awards, as well as potential discretionary bonuses and the ability to purchase additional stock at a discount through an Employee Stock Purchase Plan. You may also accrue 3 weeks of paid vacation and will be eligible for 10 or more paid holidays per year. Employees accrue paid sick leave pursuant to Company policy which satisfies or exceeds the accrual, carryover, and use requirements of the law.

Those with an active clearance will receive a 10% differential, up to an additional $20,000 annually, once officially briefed into a classified program.
