Job summary

McGough in Minnesota seeks an Industrial Scheduler to maintain schedules for industrial construction projects, using critical path scheduling along with the Last Planner System. Responsibilities include analyzing drawings, preparing Baseline schedules, and updating schedules with operations teams.

The role requires strong communication, relationship-building with owners and subcontractors, and experience in design-build contexts. Occasional travel may be necessary.

Qualifications

  • Experience in construction phase of project lifecycle.
  • Experience working as part of a design-build contractor.
  • Skilled at developing and maintaining relationships with owners, subcontractors, senior leaders, and project teams.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • 1+ years of Construction Industry experience, including industrial construction.
  • Knowledge with Lean construction practices, including pull planning.
  • Experience preparing project schedules using commercially available scheduling software.
  • Proficiency in Primavera (P6) Software.
  • AACE Planning & Scheduling Professional (PSP) or equivalent preferred.
  • Good written and oral skills.
  • Solid decision making.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and implement accepted Planning & Scheduling best practices.
  • Analyze drawings, specifications, and construction related documents in preparation and acceptance of usable Baseline schedules for construction.
  • Monitor project schedules being developed and updated by Operations staff and provide support and guidance as necessary.
  • Interact with the Operations team and represent McGough Construction in the best manner to owners, subcontractors, and their representatives.
  • Utilize analytics to identify and report on project trends and support with risk mitigation.
  • Effectively cost and manpower load schedules for use during the execution of the project.
  • Prepare Time Impact Analyses per recommended practices by commonly accepted standards.
  • Assist project teams to develop 'what if' scenarios to explore alternate sequencing, document, mitigate or avoid schedule delays.
  • Develop detailed construction schedules using Primavera P6.
  • Interact with project teams to define scope of work to develop and update detailed schedules.
  • Coordination with non-construction processes i.e. submittals, design and permitting progress.
  • Work with our Last Planner team and project teams to gather weekly work plans from subcontractors and update weekly work plans.
  • Participate in weekly subcontractor meetings on various projects.
  • Evaluate project schedule progress and performance and identify developing problem areas.
  • Participate in Lean events and support of the McGough way.
  • Responsible for special projects and other departmental duties as necessary.

INDUSTRIAL SCHEDULER


The Industrial Scheduler will primarily be responsible for maintaining schedules for Industrial construction projects. McGough uses critical path scheduling along with our Last Planner System to track and maintain progress.

Position involves sitting for extended periods of time at employee's work station and during meetings as well as while traveling, either by plane or car. Employee will be required to visit multiple construction jobsites on a weekly or bi-weekly basis which may expose the employee to dirt, dust, uneven surfaces, outdoor weather conditions and extreme temperatures.

In alignment with our commitment to pay transparency, the base salary range for this position is $90,000 to $120,000, excluding fringe benefits or potential bonuses. If you join McGough, your final base salary will be determined by several factors, including geography, location, skills, education, and experience. Furthermore, we place significant value on pay equity among our current team members as part of any final job offer.


Please note that the range provided above reflects the hiring range for this role. Hiring near the top end of this range would be atypical, as we aim to allow room for future salary growth. Additionally, McGough offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package. This includes insurance coverage for medical, dental, vision, life, and disability.
