Job summary

JBS Prepared Foods is seeking a skilled Refrigeration Technician to maintain and repair CO₂ refrigerant systems in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. The role requires mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, welding of refrigeration piping, and strict adherence to safety protocols.

The position involves lifting up to 75 pounds, standing for long shifts, and potential on‑call work. A high school diploma and 3+ years of related experience are preferred, with opportunity for career

Qualifications

• Proven ability to troubleshoot mechanical/electrical systems and document results.
• Capable of maintaining accurate maintenance records and reporting.
• Strong communication and teamwork; able to work independently and handle on‑call duties.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and respond to equipment breakdowns.
• Keep log books, maintain breakdown/repair records, and manage work orders.
• Conduct daily rounds on all equipment, including weekends and holidays.
• Schedule shutdowns to minimize production disruption while performing repairs.
• Weld and fabricate refrigeration piping to CO₂/refrigerant system standards.
• Follow LOTO and safety procedures; maintain clean, safe mechanical rooms.
• Coordinate with vendors and internal teams; assist other technicians as needed.
