Industrial Refrigeration Maintenance Specialist
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Industrial Refrigeration Maintenance Technician to ensure the peak performance and reliability of our critical utility systems. You will play a vital role in maintaining the integrity of our large-scale cooling and mechanical infrastructure, directly impacting the safety and efficiency of our production environment.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the operation, monitoring, and preventative maintenance of complex ammonia (NH₃) refrigeration systems.
- Diagnose and repair industrial utility equipment, including boilers, chillers, air compressors, and HVAC units.
- Maintain building infrastructure, such as rapid roll-up doors and plumbing systems, to ensure seamless facility operations.
- Analyze system performance data to proactively identify maintenance needs and minimize equipment downtime.
- Support Process Safety Management (PSM) programs and ensure strict adherence to IIAR, OSHA, and EPA regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide technical guidance on refrigeration system operations.
- Participate in emergency response protocols to maintain a secure and compliant workplace.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial ammonia refrigeration and mechanical maintenance.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting complex electrical control systems and reading P&IDs.
- Strong understanding of multi-stage compression, liquid recirculation, and evaporative cooling systems.
- Demonstrated expertise in LOTO, PPE, and industrial safety compliance.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs and working in various facility environments.
Preferred Skills
- Associate degree or trade certification in HVACR, Electrical, or related technical field.
- RETAA or CIRO certification.
- Experience with GEA or Frick control systems.
- Proven track record in boiler operations and facility infrastructure repair.
