Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Power Plant Maintenance Specialist for its Starbase, TX facility. The role focuses on operating and maintaining industrial process equipment, including turbines, compressors, and control systems, with emphasis on reliability and proactive issue resolution.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with mechanical/electrical systems, understands instrumentation, and can work across multidisciplinary teams to ensure smooth operations and documented procedures.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in mechanical or electrical engineering technology and 2+ years of experience with automated processes in one of the listed areas.
• Or a high school diploma/equivalency certificate with 4+ years of experience in control room operations, plant operations, mechanic/millwright support, or instrumentation/electrical operations.

Responsibilities

• Identify equipment and process deviations and perform corrective actions.
• Troubleshoot, maintain, and calibrate a variety of process equipment including compressors, gas analyzers, control systems, and valves.
• Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and fabricators to implement fluid and mechanical designs in the field.
• Work with engineers and technicians to create operating procedures.
• Coordinate across disciplines to ensure resources are available to complete builds.
• Maintain a mature hardware inventory system and procure critical spares.
• Learn and run standard operating procedures on the machinery.
