Job description

Be the energy behind our operationsPicture your day: you review the work plan, confirm safety measures, and head to the floor to chase down a 480V fault using schematics and prints. By mid-morning, you’re collaborating with designers and management to adjust a control panel layout, sketching a quick diagram to bring a special device to life. After lunch, you support a transformer change on a main sub, operate powered mobile equipment to position a bus duct section, and swap a failing thermocouple to stabilize a process. You wrap up by logging progress, coaching a newer team member, and tidying your area—always in step with codes, policies, and environmental standards.

What you’ll do
  • Build, install, repair, replace, and maintain electrical and pneumatic equipment and services across the plant and grounds.
  • Handle large-scale work including main and unit substations, transformers, bus ducts, and control panels—executed in accordance with national, state, and local electrical codes.
  • Use electrical schematics, prints, and written instructions to diagnose issues and resolve electrically driven machine malfunctions; replace defective parts to restore performance.
  • Create sketches/diagrams and partner with designers/management to develop, construct, and commission special devices and electrical equipment.
  • Perform basic electronic troubleshooting following prescribed procedures, including module and circuit board replacement.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance and periodic operating checks; test and replace thermocouples as needed.
  • Operate powered mobile equipment to move, place, or repair equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain schedules, progress notes, and required records/logs; use respiratory protection when required.
  • Load/unload trucks, replace lamps, and perform cleanup to keep the facility orderly.
  • Guide, train, and direct less experienced tradespersons or helpers.
  • Work safely and responsibly, meeting company, state, and federal safety and environmental regulations; keep tools, machines, and areas clean and organized while following company policies.
Preferred education and requirements
  • A.A.S. degree or Certificate from an accredited electrical trade school, plus successful completion of job-related skill assessments.
  • 4 years of prior experience in an industrial or comparable environment.
  • Ability to pass visual, hearing, and physical evaluations; complete Powered Industrial Truck Operator training per company policy; and meet color vision requirements.

Shift pattern is contingent on business need at the time you successfully complete the electrician training program.

Electricians who have not yet reached journeyman status will train under the supervision of a more skilled electrician until all required training is successfully completed.
