Job summary
J.M. Huber Corporation is seeking a PLC Technician to support plant automation, electrical, instrumentation, and process control systems.
The role emphasizes troubleshooting, programming, and optimizing PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and related networks to ensure safe, reliable operations. The successful candidate will collaborate with Engineering and Operations on capital projects, equipment upgrades, and continuous improvements, while maintaining strong safety and quality standards in a manufacturing
Qualifications
- Experience with testing/diagnostic equipment (multimeters, scopes).
- Strong knowledge of electrical, instrumentation, and control systems.
- Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, manuals.
- Experience with Rockwell PLCs and RSLogix/Studio 5000.
- Experience with VFDs and soft starters.
- Analytical problem-solving with data-driven approaches.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Engineering on projects and startup activities.
- Review PLC logic and control systems to fix field issues.
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical/instrumentation equipment.
- Calibrate and troubleshoot field instrumentation for accuracy.
- Configure and commission PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and related equipment.
- Maintain backups and documentation for programs and parameters.
- Ensure safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
