Job summary

TAMKO Building Products in Knoxville, TN, seeks an Electrical and Instrumentation Technician to support the Maintenance Department and keep production lines running efficiently.

The role focuses on troubleshooting PLCs, HMIs, and automated systems, performing electrical and mechanical maintenance on rotating equipment, wiring up to 480V, and collaborating with maintenance, operations and engineering to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical degree preferred.
• At least four years of related experience or training.
• Experience with electrical distribution up to 480V.
• Experience with motor troubleshooting and maintenance.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems and preventative maintenance concepts.
• Experience with industrial automation (Siemens 505/S7 PLCs, drives, DeltaV, Wonderware preferred).
• Experience with SAP or CMMS preferred.
• Certified to operate powered industrial vehicles; hydraulics experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide electrical and controls maintenance for manufacturing line and equipment.
• Install, configure and troubleshoot process instrumentation.
• Troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, and automated systems; modify logic and alarms.
• Perform industrial electrical work up to 480V in panels and wiring.
• Run conduit and cabling; assist with calibration and programming updates.
• Collaborate with maintenance, operations, and engineering to resolve problems.
• Review diagrams and schematics; analyze operational data to diagnose issues.
• Maintain environmental and process control systems; support on-call duties.
