Job summary

Evonik is seeking a Maintenance Pipefitter/Welder in Lafayette, IN, for full-time work on industrial piping systems. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshoot issues, read blueprints, and assist with piping schematics.

You will also weld as needed, document activities in SAP/CMMS, mentor junior technicians and participate in safety programs. This role supports outages and ensures GMP compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required. Industry experience preferred in pipefitting or mechanical maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on industrial piping systems and related components.
• Troubleshoot piping-related issues and support equipment reliability improvements.
• Assist in redlining and updating piping schematics and prints for accuracy.
• Execute basic welding tasks for piping system repairs and installations.
• Document all maintenance activities using SAP or CMMS.
• Train and mentor junior technicians on safe and effective maintenance practices.
• Participate in safety programs, including hazard identification and job safety assessments.
• Support planned shutdowns, turnarounds, and maintenance outages to ensure system readiness.
• Ensure compliance with cGMP, quality standards, and internal maintenance protocols.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.
