Job summary

Zero Zone is seeking a skilled pipe welder in Ramsey, MN to assemble, fabricate and pipe weld on custom industrial and commercial refrigeration systems. The role requires interpreting blueprints, following ASME B31.5 standards, and collaborating with engineering and production teams.

Candidates should have at least a high school diploma or GED and 1 year of welding experience; ASME/AWS certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year pipe welding experience.
• ASME/AWS pipe weld certification preferred.
• Experience with hand tools, power tools, and measuring tools.
• Ability to read blueprints and diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Pipe weld per ASME B31.5 certification requirements.
• Coordinate pipe welding functions per design documentation to meet Zero Zone's pipe weld qualifications.
• Plan layouts and select equipment for welding operations.
• Cut and bevel steel pipe according to blueprints.
• Align & secure pipe with components using clamps and tack welding methodologies.
• Responsible for maintaining welding tools, equipment, and supplies.
• Work with project leads and quality team to ensure systems are built per customer design specifications.
• Review Engineering Change Orders (ECO) and respond as instructed.
• Perform pipe weld inspections to verify alignment with standards.
