Job summary

Automatic Handling International, Inc. is seeking an skilled Panel Assembler to build and troubleshoot custom industrial control panels for automated packaging equipment.

You will read electrical schematics and mechanical blueprints, assemble and wire panels, test systems, and commission equipment at our clean shop in Michigan. This role requires manual dexterity and the ability to lift at least 40 pounds. Two years of experience preferred; high school diploma required.

Automatic Handling International, Inc. has been supplying the Global Fortune 500 Consumer Products Manufacturing Industry as a worldwide Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) of custom and patented handling and packaging systems since 1972.

Summary:

Build and troubleshoot custom industrial control panels for automated packaging equipment used by Fortune 500 manufacturers. This position includes panel layout, wiring, testing, and commissioning complex control systems.

Job Functions:

• Assembly and wiring of industrial control panels
• Dimensionally layout back panels and externally mounted devices
• Operate computerized terminal, wire labeling, and engraving equipment
• Wire panel devices according to provided electrical schematics
• Route and bundle wires and cables neatly and according to established electrical standards
• Perform basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting
• Powering up panels (hot wiring)
• Debugging I/O with live power

Requirements

• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints and diagrams
• Basic knowledge of electricity and electrical circuits
• Manual dexterity to adequately work with wires, use hand tools, and hand small components
• Ability to competently operate hand and power tools
• Ability to lift a minimum of 40 pounds
• At least two (2) years’ experience preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent
