Job summary

Vermeer is seeking a detail-oriented Painter I to transform raw iron into Vermeer yellow iron by applying primer, pre-finish, and finish coats to machines and parts. The ideal candidate has entry-level painting experience or completed a painting/coatings program and is eager to learn Vermeer’s Paint Training Program.

Qualifications

• Entry-level painting experience or completed painting or coatings program preferred.
• Ability to learn Vermeer Paint Training Program.
• Ability to read and follow prints and SOPs.
• Ability to measure coating quality using WFT/DFT gauges and document results.

Responsibilities

• Apply primer and topcoat to treated metal parts, meeting Vermeer quality standards.
• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, degreasing, mechanical scuffing, and precise masking per print and SOP.
• Operate and maintain paint-line equipment; perform PM/TPM and safe changeovers.
• Mix and adjust coatings by weight/volume; monitor viscosity and environment effects.
• Measure coating quality with WFT/DFT gauges and document results.
• Inspect parts for defects and communicate issues to cross-shift teams.
• Follow EHS, LOTO, and PPE procedures at all times.
