Job summary

Oshkosh Corporation is seeking a paint technician to apply primer, paint, and touch-ups on JLG products in a manufacturing setting. You will prepare surfaces, mix paints, and maintain painting equipment to ensure high-quality finishes in line with specifications.

The role requires applying coatings with spray equipment, masking parts, and performing routine inspections. You may operate tuggers and forklifts, and must maintain a clean, compliant work area on-site.

Qualifications

• 6+ months painting experience in automotive, industrial, or heavy equipment.
• Strong math skills and basic mechanical aptitude.
• Able to wear a respirator and pass a Pulmonary Function Test (PFT).
• Willing to work overtime as needed, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance, on-site.

Responsibilities

• Apply primer, paint, and touch-up coatings using spray equipment.
• Mask and unmask parts to meet specifications.
• Prepare surfaces by sanding, washing, and conditioning; light bodywork if needed.
• Disassemble, clean, and maintain painting equipment.
• Flush tanks and lines during color changes.
• Mix paints for color accuracy and viscosity.
• Perform titrations and adjust chemicals as needed for paint processes.
• Apply decals, stencils, and rust-proofing as required.
• Inspect work before, during, and after painting for quality checks.
• Transport parts using tuggers, forklifts, cranes, or carts.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and perform preventive maintenance.
