Job summary

Greif in Baltimore, OH is seeking an experienced Industrial Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician. You will perform PM inspections and mechanical/electrical repairs on heavy manufacturing equipment at our union facility, ensuring reliability and safety.

The role requires reading schematics, PLC troubleshooting, and strong teamwork in a Lean environment. Base entry level annual earning potential $70,000 plus, with a compensation package including benefits and a possible short-term incentive.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and 4+ years of relevant experience.
• Capable of PM inspections and mechanical/electrical repairs on heavy manufacturing equipment.
• Experience with PLC, hydraulic and pneumatic systems is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, diagrams and schematics.
• Strong problem-solving, teamwork, and safety awareness.

• Adhere to safety policies and participate in plant safety programs.
• Contribute to operational excellence and lean manufacturing initiatives.
• Ensure machinery reliability through preventive maintenance.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, PLC, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Read manuals and work orders to perform required service.
• Utilize hand tools and measuring devices to verify parts.
• Dismantle devices to replace defective parts.
• Support other duties as assigned.

Job Description:

We are searching for talented multi-crafted maintenance technicians. Qualified candidates must be capable of performing PM inspections, mechanical and electrical repairs of heavy manufacturing equipment and systems to work at our union facility located in Baltimore, OH.

Base entry level annual earning potential $70,000 plus!

Key Responsibilities

• Under general supervision, performs mostly routine and some non-routine maintenance and repair work according to established procedures.
• Adheres to all safety policies and procedures.
• Participates in plant-wide safety, housekeeping, and continuous improvement processes (Operational Excellence, Lean Manufacturing, etc.).
• Ensures reliability of machinery and equipment by completing preventive maintenance on machinery and systems.
• Performs tasks including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, PLC, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of equipment.
• Reads and interprets equipment manuals, diagrams, sketches, engineering specifications, and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
• Uses hand tools and measuring instruments to determine changes in dimensional requirements of parts.
• Removes defective parts by dismantling devices, using hand and power tools.
• Adheres to all plant safety policies. Participates in plant-wide safety, housekeeping, Operational Excellence, and Lean Manufacturing programs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

• Typically possesses a high school diploma (or equivalent) and 4+ years of relevant experience.

Knowledge and Skills

• Demonstrates ability to operate machines, hand-tools and electrical equipment.
• Possesses an operational knowledge of automated industrial machinery, and hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Demonstrates ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings and work orders.
• Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills with practical, mechanical, and electrical aptitude.
• Possesses basic troubleshooting experience and proven skills in machine repair.
• Knowledge of pump internals and rebuilding including bearings, seals, sleeves, etc. Proper installation and removal
• Demonstrates strong written and oral communication skills.
• Demonstrates the ability to follow directions and work well in a team.
• Welding, machining and fabrication experience a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and other relevant software.

Compensation Range:

The pay for this position is $35.35 per hour. The position may also be eligible for a short-term incentive.
