Job summary

Amsted Graphite Materials is seeking a maintenance technician to dismantle and assemble plant equipment, diagnose repairs, and fabricate parts as needed. You will handle heavy units, assess salvage options, and assist other crafts across the facility.

The role requires welding or cutting skills, blueprint reading, and the ability to work rotating shifts including overtime. A valid driver’s license is required and prior heavy industrial experience is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to work shift work and rotating schedules including daily and weekend overtime.
• Must possess a valid driver''s license.
• 4 years of manufacturing/heavy industrial experience in a skilled trade.

Responsibilities

• Dismantle, assemble, or fabricate general plant equipment (mills, pulverizers, conveyors, crushers, rotating equipment).
• Diagnose and repair general plant equipment.
• Handle heavy, bulky units during rigging, moving, and setting them.
• Decide feasibility of salvaging or scrapping equipment or parts removed for repair.
• Repair, fabricate, or improve metals by welding or cutting.
• Use blueprints, verbal instructions, or original ideas to perform work.
• Assist other crafts.

Job description

• Dismantle, assemble or fabricate general equipment (i.e. mills, pulverizers, conveyors, crushers, rotating equipment with belts, chains, fan housings, blowers, motors, etc.)
• Diagnose and make repairs to such general plant equipment as mills, pulverizers, crushers, conveyors, ect.
• Handle heavy, bulky units, in rigging, moving and setting them.
• Make decisions concerning the feasibility of salvaging or scrapping
• equipment or parts removed for repair or replacement.
• Repair, fabricate or improve metals by welding or cutting.
• Use blueprints, verbal instructions, or original ideas to perform the work.
• Use his skill in any part of the plant as required.
• Make decisions concerning the feasibility of salvaging or scrapping equipment or parts removed for repair or replacement.
• Assist other crafts.

Tools and Equipment

• May work alone with minimal supervision or with other maintenance crafts
• Work in various areas of the plant, which dependent on the area, environmental conditions can be hot, cold, dirty, greasy, wet, and noisy.

• Possess a valid driver's license
• Skills assessment and;
• Ability to work shift work and rotating schedules; including daily and weekend overtime and call-outs for repairs and break down situations to limit downtime, preventative maintenance tasks, and root cause analysis
• 4 years of Manufacturing and/or heavy industrial experience working in the skilled trade
