Job summary

GSMI in Lancaster, PA, is seeking an Estimator for Industrial Mechanical to calculate costs for materials, labor, equipment, and services. You will travel to client locations, interpret drawings, and produce precise quotations for diverse industrial projects.

Responsibilities include breaking down bids, feeding details into ERP systems, and leading kickoff meetings to ensure project success. The role demands strong math, communication, and teamwork within a fabrication and installation

Qualifications

Two years post-high school training and five years in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Thorough knowledge of industrial maintenance, rigging, piping, safe access, structural steel, machine installation, and industrial ducting.
Proficiency in reading technical drawings and material specifications.

Responsibilities

Estimate costs for materials, labor, equipment, and services for industrial projects.
Travel to diverse client locations to assess project scope and build relationships.
Analyze and interpret drawings and specifications to translate requirements into quotations.
Prepare clear, accurate quotations and communicate proposals to prospects and clients.
Break down bids into actionable project plans and feed details into ERP systems.
Lead project kickoff meetings and ensure all details are understood and risks addressed.
