Job summary

CyberCoders in Buffalo, NY is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design, develop, and optimize industrial machinery. You will create robust, manufacturable CAD designs, apply ASME standards, and support production through prototyping, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate brings 3+ years of hands-on experience in machinery manufacturing, strong CAD skills (SolidWorks/AutoCAD), and a solid grounding in GD&T and tolerance analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in machinery manufacturing or industrial equipment design.
• Proficiency with CAD software for 3D modeling and detailed drawings.
• Strong knowledge of ASME standards and GD&T.
• Experience with prototyping, testing, and product validation methods.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed part and assembly designs using CAD tools (models, drawings, BOMs).
• Apply ASME codes and standards to ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
• Perform calculations, tolerance analysis, and GD&T to validate fit and function.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to optimize designs for cost-effective production.
• Lead prototyping, testing, and validation; analyze data and implement revisions.
• Provide technical support to shop floor, suppliers, and vendors.
• Produce and maintain engineering documentation, drawings, and change notices.
• Participate in design reviews, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Support continuous improvement to increase reliability and reduce lead times.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to cross-functional projects.
