Job summary

CMC, a Fortune 500 company, is seeking a maintenance-focused professional in Columbia, SC. You’ll participate in safety programs, diagnose issues, and drive maintenance activities using SAP and QMOS across plants.

This role emphasizes hands-on fabrication, inspection, and collaboration to keep operations running smoothly. The position requires years of field experience in heavy industrial environments, welding/fabrication knowledge, and the ability to work rotating shifts including weekends.

Qualifications

• Must stand/walk/bend and work at heights for extended periods in extreme temperatures.
• Ability to read hydraulic schematics and diagnose pressure-related issues.
• Experience with welding, cutting, fabrication, and equipment maintenance preferred.
• Minimum 1 year field experience in heavy industrial operations; 3+ years strongly preferred.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the CMC Safety Programs and uphold the Safety Culture.
• Diagnose malfunctioning systems and determine root cause with test equipment and tools.
• Use SAP maintenance module to execute duties, document work, and account for time.
• Lead maintenance projects and coordinate with peers and contractors.
• Interpret blueprints and schematics; monitor equipment for defects; perform repairs.
