McCain Foods USA, Inc. is hiring an Industrial Mechanic for the 3rd shift in Appleton, WI. This full-time role focuses on preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance to ensure safe, reliable production and food safety compliance.

The position requires strong mechanical and electrical skills, experience with PLCs/automation, and proficiency in TIG welding and fabrication. A high school diploma is required with 2-year technical college preferred; 7–15 years in maintenance is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; 2-year technical college or associate degree preferred.
• 7-15 years of experience in mechanical maintenance.
• Experience in a food manufacturing environment preferred.
• Strong technical expertise in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Hands-on preventive and predictive maintenance experience.
• Troubleshoot PLCs, drives, servo systems, robotics, and industrial automation equipment.
• Proficient TIG welding, metal fabrication, and general machine shop practices.
• Experience operating lathes, mills, shears, brakes, and ironworker equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine, preventive, and emergency maintenance on plant equipment and facility systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automated production equipment.
• Execute preventive and predictive maintenance to maximise uptime.
• Maintain tools and documentation of maintenance activities in company software.
• Coordinate daily assignments with Maintenance Supervisor or Lead.
• Identify and procure repair parts to minimise downtime.
• Communicate maintenance needs using radios and digital tools.
• Complete work orders accurately in a fast-paced environment.
• Follow GMPs, food safety requirements, and safety procedures.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives for reliability and safety.
