Industrial Mechanic I### Industrial Mechanic IApply: Duck Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant: Posted Today: JR103334**Summary**The Industrial Mechanic I is responsible for the maintenance and repair of equipment within the Water Utilities Department. This position will support multiple facilities with varying processes, equipment, and functional requirements. **Pay Range**: $22.80 - $27.40 (Depending on qualifications and experiance) **Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following**. Other duties may be assigned.* Assists the Industrial Mechanic II positions in the completion of mechanical repairs.* Performs general laborer tasks as required.* Performs general housekeeping and ground maintenance as required.* Changes belts, oil, filters, greases bearings, cleans, lubricates, or replaces parts on various mechanical and electrical equipment; and assists in troubleshooting mechanical equipment.* Research parts needed for repairs.* Operate equipment, including the backhoe and forklift. **Minimum Qualifications*** Entry-level position requires basic mechanical understanding and skills.* Possess a high school diploma or GED.* Maintain a valid Texas Driver's License. **Knowledge, Skills & Abilities**:* Must maintain an In-depth knowledge of wastewater treatment processes, compliance requirements, operations and maintenance requirements, and reporting/record keeping requirements, including the ability to troubleshoot wastewater equipment and processes and be knowledgeable in performing wastewater tests and interpreting results.* Must communicate effectively, both written and verbally, with supervisors, peers, and subordinates to convey information.* Maintain basic computer skills and electrical and mechanical knowledge. **Physical Requirements / Work Environment**Frequent exposure to unpleasant environmental conditions and/or hazards. Frequent work performed outside or with exposure to risk including exposure to hazardous chemicals, raw sewage, communicable diseases, loud or constant noise, electricity, humidity, wetness, extreme temperatures, heights, odors, gases, mists, confined spaces, climbing ladders, cramped spaces, and inherent construction related hazards.
