Job summary

J&J Snack Foods Corp in Weston, Oregon is seeking a skilled maintenance mechanic to inspect, troubleshoot, repair, lube, and service production equipment and conveyors under the supervision of the maintenance lead and manager.

You will operate lathes, drill presses, grinders and other metalworking tools, support installation of new equipment, and uphold the Plant Accident Prevention Program to keep the line running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in safe and proper use of tools for maintenance tasks.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair faulty equipment.
• Experience with preventive maintenance programs and equipment uptime.

Responsibilities

• Monitors mechanical devices in operation and listens for abnormal sounds.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment.
• Proficiency in safe use of tools for cutting, drilling, grinding, threading, welding, and assembly.
• Proficiency in mechanical procedures of equipment installation.
• Set up and operate lathes, drill presses, grinders and other metalworking tools.
• Complete other maintenance activities as assigned by Supervisors.
• Comply with Plant Accident Prevention Program.

Under the guidance of the maintenance lead and manager, the mechanic will repairs, lube, trouble shoots, and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment. Assist in the fabrication and installation of new equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Other Duties May Be Assigned.)

• Monitors mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate potential problem areas in support of the Preventive Maintenance Program.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment that becomes faulty.
• Proficiency in the safe and proper use of tools to accomplish cutting, drilling, grinding, treading, welding, assembling, and other activities performed by the maintenance department.
• Proficiency in mechanical procedures of equipment installation.
• Sets up and operates lath, drill press, grinders and other metal working tools to make repair parts.
• Accomplish all other maintenance related activities as assigned by Maintenance Supervisor and/or Shift Supervisor.
• Complies with and participates in Plant Accident Prevention Program.

US Hourly Pay Range

$28.59 - $28.59 USD
