Job summary

Mauser Packaging Solutions is seeking an experienced Industrial Mechanic to maintain and repair plastic molding machinery and plant equipment in our Houston facility. You will work with the maintenance manager and production supervisor to install, troubleshoot, and complete preventive maintenance tasks while upholding safety and quality standards.

The role requires hands-on experience with high-speed equipment, electrical-pneumatic controls, welding (MIG/ARC), and the ability to read blueprints

Qualifications

• Three to five years of work experience in a manufacturing plant as a Maintenance Mechanic or Technician.

Responsibilities

• Follows, without exception, all work instructions and safety policies, including use of all PPE and safety equipment
• Performs routine preventive maintenance checks on all production equipment and machinery
• Repairs basic mechanical components and replace parts on machines such as bearings, filters, wiring, valves, gauges and switches
• Observes and listens to mechanical devices in operation to locate causes of problem
• Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts
• Lubricates and cleans machinery and support equipment to maintain housekeeping and preventive maintenance standards within the plant
• Accomplishes all work orders to maintain safety; reduce downtime; decrease scrap; improve quality production; and improve plant efficiency
• Follows all safety rules and procedures including Lockout/Tagout program, housekeeping and observes the operations to insure a safe work environment
• Troubleshoot equipment failures to determine root cause and initiate appropriate remedial action.
• Repair of equipment to improve availability and reliability for production.
• Collect and analyze work delay codes to identify challenges to timely completion of scheduled jobs and work with available resources to reduce delays.
• Ensure preventative maintenance compliance and that repair history is properly documented.
• Assist in sourcing and requisitioning maintenance supplies, equipment, and services within budgeted guidelines.
• Performs other related duties as assigned
