Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Follow all company Safety Rules and GMPs.
  • Produce high quality products in a safe and healthful manner.
  • Assigned shift attendance is required.
  • Work in all areas of production and packaging as assigned, operating and moving around machinery.
  • Be a team member and assist fellow employees as needed.
  • Review, follow, and write Job Safety Analyses and safe practices for the area.
  • Manage scheduled on-shift and downtime maintenance work.
  • Assist with identifying and ordering spare parts.
  • Assist planner/scheduler with scheduling maintenance activities.
  • Make adjustments and repairs to machines to maintain operating efficiency and reliability.
  • Perform preventative maintenance.
  • Some on shift and some on weekends.
  • Write and complete work orders for area.
  • Adhere to Safety, GMP, Sanitation, Quality, and Team rules.

REPORTS TO Area Leader/Team Leader

SUMMARY Work in a variety of areas, in production and packaging, to produce product for the company. $5000 retention Bonus. Start rate 34.00

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Follow all company Safety Rules and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's).

Produce high quality products in a safe and healthful manner.

Assigned shift attendance is required.

To work in all areas of production and packaging, as assigned, which includes operating, being in close proximity to and crossing platforms over machinery.

Ability to work as part of a team.

Assist fellow employees as needed.

Review, follow, and write Job Safety Analyses and safe practices for the area.

Manage scheduled on-shift and downtime maintenance work.

Assist with identifying and ordering spare parts.

Assist planner/scheduler with scheduling maintenance activities of team members, contractors and other outside services.

Be able to make adjustments and repairs to machines to maintain operating efficiency and reliability.

Perform preventative maintenance.

Some on shift and some on weekends.

Write and complete work orders for area.

Adhere to all Safety, GMP, Sanitation, Quality, and Team rules and procedures.

Clear understanding and working knowledge of mechanical & electrical systems, electrical schematics, power distribution & controls, motor & motor controls, and other industrial controls.

Desire to work in a Team Based Environment

Good communication skills; communicate with clarity; pertinent content and demonstration of required skills.

Talking on 2-way radios, and telephone.

Understand and communicate team and area goals and objectives.

Ability to follow directions independently and provide clear instructions to fellow team members.

Ability to give and receive constructive feedback with sensitivity, using questions and information to further team goals.

Commitment to principles of team-based work environment.

Demonstrate the ability to initiate and complete work assignments with minimal supervision 3 or more years of experience, with a mechanical aptitude.

Weekend Maintenance is expected.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High-school degree or equivalent is required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, GMP's and general instructions.

Good communication skills are required.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out both oral and written instructions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The employee is required to stand and walk at minimum 70% of the time.

The employee must be able to work 12 hour shifts.

The employee must be able to squat or kneel and to bend on a frequent basis.

The employee must be able to work in a cold and hot environment.

The employee must be able to tolerate exposure to flour and yeast materials.

The employee must be able to climb steps on a frequent basis.
