Plainsman Company, LLC. is seeking an Industrial Mechanic to inspect, maintain and repair fleet vehicles, heavy equipment, and plant machinery at our cottonseed oil mill. Schedule: Mon-Thu 7am-5pm, Fri 7am-3pm, weekend availability preferred but not required.
You will diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues, service diesel and gasoline engines, and keep detailed work orders and parts usage records to minimize downtime.
Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 7 AM - 5 PM, Friday 7 AM - 3 PM (Weekend Availability preferred but not required).
The Industrial Mechanic is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of fleet vehicles, heavy equipment, and plant-related machinery used in cottonseed oil mill operations. This role ensures all equipment operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company safety and maintenance standards to support continuous mill production.

Less than high school education; or up to one month experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information one-on-one and in small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Driver's license preferred.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk. The employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, respirators, hearing protectors, etc. is required in designated areas.
