Industrial Materials Technician

Department: Production

Reports To: Shop Foreman

Job Site: Oakdale, PA

Job Status: Full-Time in-person Required

Job Hours: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Position Summary

The Industrial Materials Technicians at EAFab play a vital role in supporting our fabrication shop’s efficiency. This role requires cross-collaboration across many departments to maintain material flow, materials prep and stock, conduct inspections on products and materials, and improve the functionality and longevity of our machinery and equipment. Embracing a hands‑on approach, responsibilities will include manual fabrication tasks, all executed with a strong focus on safety.

Core Responsibilities
  • Ensures precise and reliable data collection across production stages while supporting accurate reporting and documentation.
  • Minimizes material waste, improves utilization efficiency, and prepares/organizes materials effectively for fabrication.
  • Performs regular equipment inspections and preventive maintenance to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Adheres strictly to safety protocols, consistently wears proper PPE, and contributes to a safe, professional work environment.
  • Maintains clear, proactive communication regarding material availability, delivery schedules, delays, and issues while actively listening to team members and leadership.
  • Collaborates effectively with team members, supports shared goals, assists with tasks as needed, and helps maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Demonstrates dependability by exercising sound judgment, working independently without constant supervision, and maintaining consistent attendance while following company policies.
  • Shows initiative by seeking skill development opportunities, pursuing certifications, engaging in problem‑solving, and responding constructively to feedback.
  • Adapts to changing work demands, manages multiple tasks simultaneously, and effectively uses basic hand tools to support operations.
  • Safely operates company vehicles for material transport, ensures timely and accurate deliveries, and maintains detailed logistics records.
  • Demonstrates professionalism and cultural alignment by understanding company products/services, embodying core values, and fostering a positive, respectful work environment.
  • Completes additional duties as assigned to support overall operations and team success.
Position Ergonomics
  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the workday.
  • Capable of standing and walking for extended periods, including moving between workstations and handling tasks across the shop floor.
  • Proficient in operating various types of machinery, power tools, and equipment safely and effectively, following manufacturer instructions and safety procedures.
  • Comfortable working at elevated heights using ladders, scaffolding, or lifts as needed, adhering to safety protocols and equipment usage guidelines.
  • A valid driver's license is required for this position to facilitate transportation needs.
