Job summary

RENK America in Muskegon, MI, is looking for a Master Electrician to install, repair and maintain electrical and electronic equipment with a focus on reliability and safety in a production environment. This role supports the Apprenticeship program for Electrical Journeyman.

The ideal candidate holds a Master Electrician license, has industrial motor control and PLC experience, can read drawings, and is able to obtain a UAW card if needed. Overtime and weekend availability are expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Journeyman Master Electrician license or ability to obtain UAW Card within 90 days.
• Active Master Electrician license required.
• Industrial experience including motor control, relay logic, PLC logic and computer-based motor/process control systems.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics.
• Excellent technical, communication, and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to MIOSHA and NECA safety regulations.
• Obtain permits with Muskegon County or other authorities using Master Electrician license.
• Install, maintain and repair electrical and electronic equipment to improve reliability.
• Inspect, repair, replace, install, adjust, maintain and test high/low voltage systems and equipment.
• Test circuits with ohmmeters and voltmeters for safety and compatibility.
• Install conduit, wiring and apparatus for electrical maintenance.
• Diagnose complex equipment failures and troubleshoot with a scientific approach.
• Service VFDs, fuse blocks, relays and other field devices.
• Troubleshoot motors, motor controls and disconnects.
• Safely operate Process Logic Controller systems and instrumentation.
• Organize work for maximum efficiency and adjust priorities per plant needs.
