Job summary

Flexx Workforce of Louisiana LLC in Thibodaux, LA is hiring an experienced Structural Fitter for upcoming industrial and marine projects. This role focuses on fitting structural steel components, not pipe, and requires reading blueprints and working in shipyards or fabrication shops.

Responsibilities include measuring, laying out, assembling beams, plates, and assemblies to spec, tacking welds for final welding, and maintaining a safe, clean work environment while following all site safety

Qualifications

• 2-5+ years of structural fitting experience (NOT pipe fitting).
• Strong blueprint reading skills (structural drawings).
• Experience in shipyard, fabrication shop, or industrial setting preferred.
• Ability to pass drug screening and background check (if required).
• Physical/fit-for-duty screening required.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, structural drawings, and specifications.
• Measure, layout, and fit structural steel components.
• Assemble beams, plates, and structural assemblies to spec.
• Tack weld components for final welding.
• Use grinders, torches, hand tools, and measuring instruments.
• Work alongside welders and other trades.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Follow all job site safety standards and procedures.
