Job summary

Flowers Foods, Inc. is hiring an Industrial Maintenance Technician to support bakery operations. The role focuses on preventative and scheduled maintenance across plant equipment, with strong mechanical and technical skills essential for reliability and safety.

Starting pay is $31.00 per hour. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED with relevant technical training; experience in HVAC and electrical repairs is preferred.

Qualifications

• Two years+ experience as a mechanic or in a similar role.
• Experience with HVAC, welding, electronics, and electrical repairs is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance tasks as assigned.

• Troubleshoot and repair equipment stoppages and mechanical failures.
• Operate shop tools and fabricate parts as needed.
• Maintain a clean work area and support a high-functioning team.

Industrial Maintenance Technicians ensure optimal efficiency is achieved by performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, with safety and quality standards being a top priority. They must possess a technical mindset and demonstrate strong mechanical capabilities, while being flexible and adaptable as they will be required to rotate job assignments throughout various areas of the bakery. Industrial Maintenance Technicians must have the aptitude and drive to seek and acquire on-going training due to ever evolving technological improvements and performance standards.

Rising to the Challenge: Position Responsibilities

• Performs assigned preventative maintenance tasks.
• Performs scheduled maintenance on plant equipment and machinery.
• Responds to and corrects equipment stoppage/mechanical breakdown. Troubleshoots (when necessary). Repairs/replaces worn/defective parts, motors, control devices, etc.
• Operates machine shop equipment, hand tools, power hand tools, and makes required parts when necessary.
• Maintains cleanliness of work area.
• Position requires ability to act as a member of a highly functioning team.
• Practices and complies with all Company policies and procedures including safety and work rules, etc.
• Performs other duties as directed by supervision.

High School diploma or GED plus: successful completion of a 6-9 month vocational/technical degree (i.e., HVAC, auto maintenance/repair, or similar program) or, equivalent military training or, successful completion of at least 45 college credit hours may be substituted for vocational/technical training, or completion of the AIB "Science of Baking" correspondence course.
