Job summary

Xylem is seeking a Skilled Trades Technician in Morton Grove, IL to install, maintain, and repair complex machinery and systems across mechanical, electrical, and automation domains.

The role requires reading blueprints and schematics, completing an apprenticeship or equivalent, and performing preventive maintenance while ensuring safety and compliance. Shift work and routine overtime may be required in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• English reading/writing; follow instructions.
• Read/interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams.
• Apprenticeship or trade school or equivalent on-the-job training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair complex machinery and equipment.
• Diagnose and rebuild mechanical components; fabricate parts as needed.
• Plan, install, troubleshoot electrical systems following NEC; service switchgear/transformers.
• Diagnose and repair PLCs, CNCs, DNCs and related control systems.
• Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain HVAC, piping, and plant infrastructure.
• Perform preventive maintenance and document work performed.
