Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician for the night shift in Salt Lake City, UT. This full-time role requires maintaining and repairing manufacturing equipment, performing preventive maintenance, and supporting uptime on the line during the 4:00 PM–12:30 AM shift.

Qualifications

• Follow safety rules and precautions for hydraulic, mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair manufacturing equipment.
• Read and interpret electrical and mechanical diagrams and manuals.

Responsibilities

• Know and follow safety rules for hydraulics, mechanics, pneumatics and electrical systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair manufacturing equipment to minimize downtime.
• Perform inspections and preventive maintenance per the program.
• Assist in minor welds and fabrication as needed.
• Operate and read gauges, test equipment and meters.

JOB DETAILS

Base pay starts at $23.50 - $27.75 per hour plus $1.50 shift differential

Night Shift (4:00 PM - 12:30 AM)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Knows and understands all safety rules and precautions necessary for working with and around hydraulic, mechanical, pneumatic and electrical apparatus
• Ability to work on highly technical or involved projects, presenting new or constantly changing problems
• Ability to deal with complex factors not easily evaluated and to make decision based on conclusions and findings
• Troubleshoot and repair manufacturing equipment.
• Safely handle and work with various voltages and power sources.
• Familiarity with metal fabrication and light machine work.
• Use various types of welding equipment, Mig, Arc, and flame cutting equipment.
• Uses electricians hand tools and measuring and testing equipment
• Performs visual and mechanical inspections required to keep machinery in good operating condition
• Follows preventive maintenance program as established by the company and performs inspections of equipment and takes preventive action when necessary
• Gives on the job direction to new maintenance mechanics and/or others assisting in maintenance work
• Maintains continuous improvement efforts in work area
• Additional technical skills:
  • A self starter with demonstrated commitment to electrical safety, strong troubleshooting skills, and decision making skills
  • Mechanical Systems Experience
  • Medium Voltage troubleshooting and repair (480 VAC) (24VDC)
  • Understanding of basic electrical
  • Mechanical aptitude, familiarity with hand tools and power tools
  • Proficient in reading and writing
  • Basic knowledge of bearings and drive systems
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist

This is a position with the potential overtime. The shifts are 8 hours, 10 hours, and 12 hours long depending on work orders for the day and season of the year.
