Job summary

PLA and its Family of Companies in Oklahoma City seeks an Industrial Maintenance Technician III to lead facility and equipment maintenance. You’ll perform preventive maintenance, complex repairs, and installations, ensuring safe, efficient operations and regulatory compliance.

Strong electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and welding skills are essential. The role requires 4+ years in industrial maintenance, welding and electrical certifications, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of industrial, warehouse, or manufacturing maintenance experience.
  • Welding certification (arc and/or MIG) and electrical certification/license required.
  • Valid driver's license; associate degree or trade school certification preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting across electrical (24V–480V 3‑phase), PLC/IFM controls, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on facility and production equipment.
  • Troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, and vacuum systems; repair electrical systems and read schematics.
  • Wire, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems (24V DC through 480V AC 3‑phase); install sensors.
  • Arc/MIG welding and metal fabrication; install/remove equipment as needed.
  • Maintain HVAC, lighting, and building/grounds upkeep; manage PM work orders.

The Maintenance III Technician is responsible for performing and overseeing all facility and equipment maintenance, repairs, installations, and removals. This role is the senior‑level maintenance position at the site and ensures all equipment is safe, functional, and operating at maximum efficiency. The Maintenance III contributes directly to safe operations, production uptime, and regulatory compliance by performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and completing complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic tasks. This position requires expert technical skills, strong problem‑solving ability, and the capability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Work Schedule: Shift A
  • Sunday thru Tuesday - 4:00 am to 2:30 pm
  • Wednesday: 4:00 am to 9:30 am

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on all facility and production equipment, including SMETCO and Palmatic machinery, forklifts, yard trucks, compressors, and production tools
  • Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, and vacuum systems
  • Wire, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems (24V DC through 480V AC 3‑phase); read PLC, IFM, and electrical schematics; install and troubleshoot photo sensor logic
  • Perform arc/MIG welding and metal fabrication; install and remove equipment as needed
  • Maintain HVAC, lighting, and building/grounds upkeep
  • Process PM work orders on time in computer‑based maintenance systems; keep all equipment, forklift, and inspection logs current
  • Ensure forklift certifications stay current and enforce all safety and environmental policies
  • Manage spare parts inventory; source parts, obtain quotes, and coordinate with vendors
  • Assist with training less experienced maintenance personnel and communicate professionally with management, operations, and vendors
Qualifications
  • 4+ years of industrial, warehouse, or manufacturing maintenance experience
  • Welding certification (arc and/or MIG) and electrical certification/license required
  • Valid driver's license required; associate degree or trade school certification preferred
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across electrical (24V–480V 3‑phase), PLC/IFM controls, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems
  • Computer proficiency: PM processing, inventory, email, and maintenance software
  • On‑call availability for after‑hours breakdowns
Physical Requirements
  • Ablility to lift, pushing, and pulling of up to 75 lbs
  • Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and climbing throughout the shift
  • Ability to work in non‑climate‑controlled areas (heat/cold)
  • Ability to work at heights, use ladders, and operate tools and equipment safely
Work Environment
  • Industrial/warehouse environment with exposure to noise, dust, machinery, and varying temperatures
  • PPE required in all designated areas
  • May require occasional overtime or on‑call support based on facility needs
