Job summary

CHG Guenther & Son is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform preventative and corrective maintenance on production equipment and facilities. The role requires hands-on work, reliability, and strong safety focus in a fast-paced plant environment.

You'll work 12-hour days, every other weekend, with shifts from 6am to 6:30pm. Pay ranges from $37 to $46 per hour, with a $1,000 sign-on bonus paid in two installments within the first year, and DOQ.

Qualifications

• Minimum Associate Degree or equivalent years of experience.
• 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and predictive maintenance per weekly schedule.
• Investigate breakdowns and line stoppages using root-cause analysis.
• Troubleshoot and maintain plant equipment and systems.
• Record maintenance activities in CMMS daily.
• Assist in line drawings and schematics interpretation.
• Ensure GMP, PPE, SOP, HACCP, and OSHA compliance.

Job description

The Maintenance Technician position is responsible for performing preventative and corrective maintenance on the production and company facilities.

12 hour days, every other weekend. 6am-630pm 3 days one week, 4 days next week Pay starting at $37.00 - $46.00 DOQ $1000 sign on bonus split into two installments over the first year

Job Description Duties and Responsibilities:

• Effectively complete preventative and predictive maintenance per weekly schedule to prevent breakdowns on equipment.
• Utilize root-cause analysis skills to investigate breakdown and line stoppages while collaborating with other departments.
• Proficient in the operation of all plant equipment to better troubleshoot and maintain as required.
• Communicate with team leaders and production associates regarding critical findings during routine inspections.
• Proficient in using CMMS (Computerized maintenance management system) to record all maintenance activities daily.
• Proficient in welding and metal fabrication to include proper use of machine shop equipment.
• Proficient in understanding and troubleshooting hydraulics and pneumatics circuits and systems.
• Proficient in maintaining and troubleshooting mechanical systems such as gearboxes, bearing, seals, clutch & brakes, etc.
• Proficient in troubleshooting 230/480 motor control circuits in a manufacturing environment, utilizing multi-meter and other test equipment.
• Must have experience in troubleshooting and replacing VF Drives and other motor control devices.
• Must have experience in troubleshooting PLCs, understanding components and logic.
• Proficient in utilizing line drawings and schematics to troubleshoot equipment.
• Ensuring daily adherence to the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP), and Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) Regulations
• Must be willing to invest time in continuous improvement of technical skills.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Education/Certifications:

• Minimum Associate Degree or equivalent years of experience.
• Must have at least 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort:

• Work involves daily exposure to elements such as dirt, dust, fumes, extreme temperatures, humidity, darkness, and/or noise
• The work environment involves daily exposure to physical risks, such as working around mechanical, chemical, and electrical hazards
• Regular exposure to food products and food allergens
• Position requires the ability to stand; walking around the office and plant; lifting and carrying packages up to 50 pounds; utilizing fine dexterity, and reaching; kneeling, crawling, and twisting to inspect equipment. It also requires the ability to see; hear; and communicate with employees as well as others by utilizing professional etiquette
• Personal protective equipment, as defined by CHG, will be provided
