Job summary

Altium Packaging in Verona, PA seeks an Industrial Maintenance Technician to perform repairs and preventive maintenance on production machinery, plant blow mold equipment, and facility systems. The role requires adherence to GMPs and safety standards.

You will install and repair blow mold, trimmers, palletizers, and related equipment; perform tool changes; inspect hoses, valves, and pumps; and carry out preventive maintenance to keep machines in optimal condition.

Qualifications

• Basic mathematical and computer skills; knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Preferred: 2+ years maintenance experience in manufacturing.
• Preferred: OSHA forklift certification.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and preventive/corrective maintenance on production machinery and plant equipment.
• Follow GMPs and safety standards and applicable regulations.
• Install, adjust and repair blow mold, trimmers, palletizer and related equipment.
• Perform mold, neck tooling changes, pin and other equipment changes.
• Inspect and replace pneumatic and hydraulic hoses; inspect, rebuild and replace valves and pumps.
• Perform preventive maintenance on all related equipment and keep machines in optimal condition.
• Weld, fabricate, and repair various machines; troubleshoot root problems and repair equipment.
• Communicate with other departments; may operate blow mold or injection machines.
• Duties may vary by plant; receive instructions from Lead Technician or Supervisor.
• Overtime may be required due to business needs.

Overview

As a fully competent Industrial Maintenance Technician, incumbent will perform repairs, preventive and corrective maintenance on production machinery, plant blow mold equipment and facility. They are also responsible for following our company's Good Manufacturing Practices.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with corporate and plant safety standards and with applicable laws and regulations issued by regulatory agencies.
• Install, adjust and repair blow mold, trimmers, palletizer and other related equipment.
• Perform mold, neck tooling changes, pin and other equipment changes.
• Inspect and replace pneumatic and hydraulic hoses.
• Inspect, rebuild and replace valves and pumps.
• Perform preventive maintenance on all related equipment.
• Maintain machines in optimal processing condition.
• Weld, fabricate, and repair various machines.
• Troubleshoot, locate root problems and repair blow mold, baggers & support equipment.
• May operate blow mold or injection machines.
• Communicate with other departments on a frequent basis.
• Duties may differentiate by plant based on equipment and plant design.
• Receives instructions on specific job task by Lead Industrial Maintenance Technician or Supervisor.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
• Assistance is furnished on unusual problems and work is reviewed for application of sound professional judgment.

Reasonable mandatory overtime may be required due to business needs.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• Basic mathematical skills

Preferred:

• 2+ years maintenance experience, specifically in the manufacturing industry
• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent educational
• OSHA Forklift certification

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts in a production environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Temperatures inside the plant can fluctuate between hot and cold according to seasonal changes. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in the production department and other designated areas.
