Job summary

Kohls in Galena, Ohio seeks a Maintenance Technician to ensure facility efficiency by maintaining, inspecting, and repairing equipment and machinery. You will help keep conveyors, air systems, and safety devices running smoothly.

Daily tasks include inspecting and repairing conveyors, performing preventative maintenance on HVAC and related equipment, and assisting with electrical/plumbing repairs while managing parts and maintaining a safe work environment.

Qualifications

• Mechanical, electrical, plumbing and HVAC basics required.
• Must comply with MSDS standards and lock-out/tag procedures.
• Ability to climb ladders and operate power equipment.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision; provide own basic tools.

Responsibilities

• Daily inspection and repair of conveyor systems and equipment.
• Preventative maintenance on air compressors, generators, bailers, conveyors and handling equipment.
• Inspect and repair fire protection equipment.
• Perform parts administration.
• Assist with minor electrical and plumbing repairs, painting, and office moves.
• Maintain lighting and recycling sorting and loading.
• Support outside contractors and respond to jams or malfunctions promptly.

Job description

Shifts:
Monday-Thursday 2pm-12am

Monday-Thursday 10pm-8am

About the Role

As a Maintenance Technician, you will promote workplace efficiency and profitability by maintaining, inspecting and repairing facilities, equipment and machinery.

What You’ll Do

• Daily inspection and repair of all conveyor systems and equipment
• Routine inspection, preventative maintenance and maintenance of air compressors, generators, compactors, bailers, conveyors and power and material handling equipment
• Perform inspection and repair of fire protection equipment
• Parts administration

• Perform minor electrical and plumbing repairs, painting and office furniture moves
• Perform routine maintenance on heating and air conditioning units
• Maintain lighting throughout the facility
• Sort, stack and load pallets, cardboard, aluminum, steel and light bulbs for recycling

• Assist outside contractors in performing various duties
• Promptly answer calls for jams, malfunctions or other maintenance-related issues

What Skills You Have

• Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing and HVAC equipment
