Job summary

Heidtman Steel Products, Inc is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician for our Erie, MI facility. You will troubleshoot, repair and perform preventative maintenance on slitting lines, tube mills, overhead cranes and forklifts, as well as general building maintenance.

Wages start at $28.88/hour up to $38.00/hour, based on experience with openings on 2nd shift and 3rd shift. Requirements include industrial maintenance experience, ability to work with 120V/208V/277V/480V, hydraulic/pneumatic

Qualifications

• Industrial maintenance experience required.
• Experience with 120V/208V/277V/480V 3-phase electrical systems preferred.
• Able to interpret drawings, schematics and blueprints.
• Welding and fabrication abilities.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Comfortable with PLC/VFD troubleshooting a plus.
• Proficient with preventive and predictive maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair and perform preventative/predictive maintenance on slitting lines, tube mills, cranes and forklifts.
• Interpret drawings, schematics and blueprints to install or repair components.
• Weld and fabricate as needed and manage basic tools.
• Maintain building and industrial plumbing as required.
• Operate a variety of hand and power tools safely.
• Ensure electrical systems (120V–480V) are functioning and up to code.
• Support other maintenance tasks and document work performed.

Job description

Heidtman Steel Products, Inc, a steel processing company, is searching for an Industrial Maintenance Technician for our Erie, MI facility. Maintenance personnel are responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventative and predictive maintenance on all our slitting line, tube mills, overhead cranes and forklifts, as well as general building maintenance. Wages for this role start at $28.88/hour - up to $38.00/hour, based on experience. Openings on 2nd shift (afternoons) and 3rd shift (mid-nights).

Requirements:

• INDUSTRIAL MAINTENANCE EXPERIENCE REQUIRED.
• Candidates must have experience working on, troubleshooting and installing 120V/208V, 277V and 480V 3 Phase electrical systems.
• Must be comfortable working on and troubleshooting hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical equipment.
• Strong ability to interpret drawings, schematics, and blueprints is necessary.
• Ability to weld and fabricate as needed.
• Must have excellent oral and written communication and organizational skills.
• Heavy industrial manufacturing experience and be computer literate is required.
• Ability to trouble-shoot Variable Frequency Drives is preferred.
• PLC troubleshooting is preferred.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance.
• Must provide basic tools/tool box.
• Must be comfortable using a Multi-Volt Meter.
• General Building Maintenance and industrial plumbing.
• Ability and experience operating a variety of standard hand and power tools.
• High school diploma or GED also required.
