Job summary

Hartung Glass Industries in Dallas, TX is seeking a hands-on Industrial Maintenance Technician for on-site manufacturing support. You will maintain and repair tempering furnaces, cutting and fabrication machinery, conveyors, and related systems to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude with industrial equipment repair.
• Know-how of electrical systems, controls, sensors, and schematics.
• Familiarity with pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to perform preventive maintenance and root-cause analysis.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment; glass or metal industry a plus.

• Experience with CMMS is beneficial.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Industrial Maintenance Technician role based in Dallas, TX. The Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment such as tempering furnaces, cutting and fabrication machinery, conveyors, and related systems to support continuous glass manufacturing operations. Day-to-day tasks include performing preventive and corrective maintenance, diagnosing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues, and completing timely repairs to minimize downtime. The role also involves monitoring equipment performance, documenting maintenance activities, coordinating with production teams to schedule work, and following safety and quality standards. The technician may assist with equipment installation and upgrades, work with external vendors when needed, and contribute to process improvements and reliability initiatives.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude with experience maintaining and repairing industrial equipment, including motors, gearboxes, conveyors, and fabrication machinery.
• Working knowledge of basic electrical systems, including troubleshooting controls, sensors, wiring, and interpreting electrical schematics.
• Familiarity with pneumatic and hydraulic systems, including valves, cylinders, pumps, and related components used in manufacturing environments.
• Ability to perform preventive maintenance, root-cause analysis, and reliability-focused repairs using standard tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting; glass, metal, or similar process industry experience is a plus.
• Solid understanding of workplace safety practices, lockout/tagout procedures, and safe operation around heavy machinery.
• Basic computer skills for work orders, maintenance documentation, and communication; experience with CMMS systems is beneficial.
• Effective communication skills, ability to collaborate with production and engineering teams, and readiness to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
