Job summary

National Strand seeks an Industrial Maintenance Electrical Technician to maintain, install, troubleshoot and modify industrial equipment. The candidate will implement maintenance procedures, troubleshoot electrical systems and may take on additional duties as assigned.

With 3+ years in a manufacturing setting, you will read diagrams, work with PLCs, drills, weld in MIG or Stick, and uphold safety standards. Rotating shifts and overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years experience as Industrial Maintenance Mechanic in a manufacturing environment.
• Education: High School Diploma; technical certs preferred.
• Strong ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams, schematics, and mechanical/pneumatic diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, installation, troubleshooting and modification of industrial equipment.
• Follow safety standards and LOTO procedures; ensure work area remains clean and safe.
• Ability to weld using MIG and/or Stick.
• Maintain equipment and support preventative maintenance programs.

The Industrial Maintenance Electrical Technician at National Strand is responsible for the maintenance, installation, troubleshooting, and modification of new and existing industrial equipment. The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment, will recommend and execute maintenance procedures, and may involve additional responsibilities and opportunities as they become necessary and/or are assigned by management.

This role will recommend and execute maintenance procedures, and may involve additional responsibilities and opportunities as they become necessary and/or are assigned by management.

Job Description

• Perform troubleshooting functions in a manufacturing environment.
• High voltage experience.
• DC Circuits.
• PLC knowledge is a plus.
• Industrial Controls. Panels, relays, switches, wiring.
• Able to read, interpret and follow Electrical Diagrams and schematics.
• Rotating Equipment troubleshooting and repair.
• Preventive Maintenance Execution.
• Pneumatics and pneumatic controls and components.
• Inspection of equipment and effective communication with peers and managers.
• Must be able to weld using MIG and/or Stick.
• Use all sorts of equipment and tools for the trade, electrical testing tools as well as mechanical tools.
• Must understand and follow instructions.
• Must be SAFE and use the appropriate LOTO procedures.
• Must be able to learn quickly to operate equipment to test and assure its proper operation.
• Ensuring work area is maintained clean and safety standards are followed.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment and assigned area.
• Able to read, interpret and follow mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic diagrams and schematics.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Experience: Minimum 3+ years experience working as an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic with a demonstrated proficiency in troubleshooting. Prior experience of working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment desired. Must have the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities and quickly respond to minimize production delays.

Education: High School Diploma. Technical School Certifications preferred.

Communication: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal communication. Must be able to understand and follow directions. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.

Technology: Strong working knowledge of MS Office, and other support software.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

Must be able to work rotating shifts and be available for overtime and weekend work, evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Work Environment

The position operates in a professional office environment using standard office equipment such as computers, iPads, phones, copiers, and filing cabinets. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and moving mechanical parts.
