Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan is hiring a Mechanical Technician to perform mechanical and electrical repairs in a heavy industrial environment at the Bagdad operations. The role requires welding, cutting, pipefitting and light machining with knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, and electrical maintenance.

We seek candidates with at least one year in a related trade, able to read prints/schematics, and capable of using forklifts and cranes safely.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year in a relevant trade or equivalent education/experience.
• Ability to perform mechanical and electrical repairs in a heavy industrial setting.
• Must understand safety practices and pass required training.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical and electrical repairs on machinery and equipment.
• Welding, cutting, pipefitting and light machining tasks.
• Read machine prints or schematics and work to detail.
• Operate forklifts/cranes and adhere to safety protocols.
• Complete required exams and demonstrate aptitude for the role.
