Job summary

Precoat Metals in Houston is seeking a Multi Craft Maintenance Technician to ensure plant equipment and facilities are maintained in top electrical and mechanical condition, enabling continuous production. You will troubleshoot, repair, and optimize electrical and hydraulic systems, read drawings, and implement modifications to meet production needs.

The role requires a HS diploma and 2+ years of related experience in heavy industrial settings, with rotating day/night shifts and 12-hour

Qualifications

• Minimum a HS diploma and 2+ years of experience repairing and troubleshooting in electrical, pneumatics, hydraulics, overhead cranes, forklifts, hoists, 3-phase motors, variable speed drives and controls, and heavy industrial wiring.
• Strong industrial electrical experience required.
• Ability to read and interpret machine electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Familiar with Windows operating system and computer literacy.

Responsibilities

• Organize, and facilitate maintenance on all production and facility equipment with emphasis on uptime and resolving quality and production issues.
• Read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Troubleshoot programmable controllers, electronics, circuit analysis, mechanics, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Use electrical test equipment for repair and troubleshooting.
• Repair and rebuild electrical and mechanical components.
• Installation, modification, and fabrication of equipment and systems to meet production needs.
• Communicate maintenance status across shifts to Maintenance Team Leader and Manager.
• Support plant wide goals for quality, production, and safety.

Some of your Responsibilities include:

• Organize, and facilitate maintenance on all production and facility equipment with emphasis on equipment uptime and to resolve quality and production related issues in the spirit of continuous improvement, including electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical troubleshooting.
• Read and interpret machine electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Troubleshoot programmable controllers, electronics, circuit analysis, mechanics, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Use electrical test equipment as needed for repair and troubleshooting.
• Repair and rebuild electrical and mechanical components.
• Installation, modification and fabrication of equipment and systems to meet production needs and schedules.
• Communicate clearly maintenance situations from one shift to another, including Maintenance Team Leader and Maintenance Manager.
• Plant wide accountabilities for operational aspects including progress toward quality and production goals.
• Participate in continuous improvement in safety, quality and housekeeping.

Qualifications

You will have a minimum of a HSdiploma and 2+ years of experience repairing and troubleshooting in electrical, pneumatics, hydraulics, over-head cranes, forklifts, hoists, 3-phase motors, variable speed drives and controls, and heavy industrial wiring in addition to the following:

• Strong industrial electrical experience required.
• Ability to learn process, equipment specifications and company standards by actively consulting resources, associates, manuals, training department and policies.
• Good practical sense working with and troubleshooting equipment problems. Able to work with minimal supervision within a team environment.
• Must be computer literate, familiar with the Windows Operating system.

Additional Information

Pay is based on experience

Must be willing to rotate between day and night shift once per month, work 12 hour shifts 7-7 and work weekends. Employees are scheduled to work 4 days on with 3 days off one week and 3 days on with 4 days off the next week.
