Position: Industrial Maintenance Reliability Technician I

Location: Hillview, KY

Wage: $28.02/hr plus $2.00 shift differential

Shift: 2nd Shift Monday-Friday, 8-hour shifts (overtime may be required)

Role Overview

Reporting directly to your supervisor as an Industrial Maintenance Reliability Technician I, you will be responsible for performing maintenance tasks, specifically proactive tasks, necessary to ensure high-quality, efficient, and timely shipment of Sonoco products. Safety, quality, productivity, and a strong work ethic are integral to Sonoco’s culture.

Responsibilities

1. Installing and maintaining auxiliary equipment as required by production.
2. Maintaining and repairing utility and facility-related equipment as directed by the Plant Engineer.
3. Assisting/training other maintenance personnel with repairs, preventive maintenance, and rebuilds.
4. Collaborating closely with other departments and teams for proactive problem resolution.
5. Maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work area.
6. Managing small projects to maintain or upgrade equipment.
7. Performing all duties in support of Sonoco’s quality and safety policies.

Qualifications

• Experience in an industrial environment or military experience.
• Experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining manufacturing equipment.
• Experience with PLC troubleshooting, industrial, and motor controls preferred.
• Comfortable with mechanical lifts, ladders, kneeling, bending, and twisting; lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in an off-shift position with rotating shifts that may include overtime and weekends.
