Job summary

Thompson Pipe Group is seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead a team responsible for keeping industrial plant equipment, DOT fleet, and heavy machinery in top condition. You will schedule, direct, and mentor Mechanics/Technicians across multiple trades, and guide preventive maintenance programs.

You will train staff, conduct reviews, and ensure safety compliance while coordinating work orders and purchasing needed tools and parts.

Qualifications

Leadership and people management experience in maintenance teams.
Experience creating preventive maintenance plans and schedules.
Skilled in diesel and heavy equipment maintenance, welding and fabrication.
Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting abilities.
Familiarity with safety standards and DOT fleet compliance.

Responsibilities

Manage team in the maintenance and repair of industrial plant equipment, DOT fleet compliance, heavy equipment, welding, and industrial electric.
Schedule, direct, and manage a crew of Maintenance Mechanics/Technicians involved in maintenance specialties.
Provide training, work direction and guidance while performing work in one or more of the skilled trades.

Maintain safety practices and compliance with Federal, State and local codes.
Purchase tools, equipment and materials; operate light trucks to pick up and deliver equipment and supplies.

Scheduling and track work through a digital software such as MaintainX or similar platform
Conduct performance reviews, coach team members, and monitor work of assigned crew members. Provide disciplinary action to assigned crew as required.
Perform a variety of skilled work in the maintenance

and repair of equipment; prioritize, schedule, assign and coordinate the work of assigned staff to accomplish a wide variety of duties related to maintenance

Construct, rebuild and repair equipment according to assigned job specifications, work orders, and conform to repair estimate costs
Perform in an advisory capacity to assure compliance with appropriate safety practices and procedures and with applicable Federal, State and local codes, regulations and requirements.
Support and maintain 5-S work area(s).
Manages purchasing, installation, maintenance

and repair of equipment; perform troubleshooting to repair or replace equipment; perform repairs to equipment.

Estimate cost of labor and materials for work orders; obtain competitive prices for equipment and supplies needed.
Maintain various records related to labor, materials and work orders.
Purchase tools, equipment and materials; operate light trucks to pick up and deliver equipment and supplies.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Maintain regular attendance.
Follow Company Safety policies and standards.

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:- KNOWLEDGE OF:- Mechanical, Electrical, Hydraulics, Pneumatic, and Welding - Scheduling, laying out and assigning work. - Appropriate health and safety precautions and procedures. - Technical aspects of field of specialty - Proper methods of storing equipment, materials and supplies. - Basic record-keeping techniques. - Requirements of maintaining equipment in a safe, clean and orderly condition. - Trade tools, equipment, materials, methods and techniques used in skilled and general maintenance
and equipment repair.

ABILITY TO:- Perform a wide variety of skilled journey-level work in the maintenance

and repair of equipment. - Prioritize, schedule, assign and review work. - Train and provide work direction to assigned personnel in the performance of a wide variety of duties related to mobile equipment. - Interpret, explain and apply codes, rules and regulations involved in assigned maintenance
activities. - Effectively and safely operate a variety of assigned tools and equipment. - Interpret work orders to others. - Understand and follow oral and written directions. - Communicate effectively both orally and in writing. - Make arithmetic calculations quickly and accurately. - Work independently with little direction. - Meet schedules and timelines. - Maintain routine records. - Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others. - Observe legal and defensive driving practices. - Operate a vehicle and perform heavy physical labor. - Lift heavy objects.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:- Work is performed while standing, sitting and/or walking.

Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision and hearing.
Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
Requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching.
Requires the ability to lift, carry, push or pull medium weights, up to 75 pounds.
Requires activities involving being around moving machinery, exposure to changes in temperature, exposure to dust and fumes.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:- High school diploma or G.E.D.

Minimum of ten (5) experience in one or more of the skilled trades.

LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:- Valid driver's license in the work location State.
