Job summary

Sylvamo is hiring a Mechanical Maintenance Associate for the Eastover, SC Mill. The role involves hands-on mechanical maintenance, valve and pump repair, and upkeep of rotating equipment in a heavy industrial setting.

You will work as part of a skilled maintenance team to keep the mill running smoothly. Applicants should have a High School Diploma or GED, basic computer skills, and a year of industrial maintenance experience or equivalent vocational training.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Basic computer skills.
• Able to function in a team environment.
• 1 year minimum experience in industrial maintenance as Mechanic or Millwright.
• 1 year vocational/technical education in Industrial Maintenance/Welding/Millwright.
• Must pass hands-on skill and written tests.

Responsibilities

• Replace valves and gaskets, basic welding, repack pumps and valves.
• Repair/replace mechanical components and drive systems.
• Operate forklifts and perform piping installations.
• Maintain rotating equipment, gears, seals, hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Ensure safety practices and proper rigging.
