Job summary

The Lubrizol Corporation in Spartanburg, SC is hiring a Maintenance Mechanic to inspect, evaluate, and repair plant equipment. You will work on piping, valves, pumps, reactors, boilers, and associated systems in a full-time, on-site capacity.

You will safely perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment, and support fabrication and installation of new or modified equipment. Overtime, weekend shifts, and PPE use are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3+ years of welding experience.
• Excellent math, reading, comprehension and problem-solving skills.
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of data entry.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to work safely, independently and on a team.
• Must be willing to work overtime including weekends, holidays and call-ins.
• Must be medically certified to wear a negative-pressure respirator and other PPE as required.

Responsibilities

• Safely performs preventive and predictive maintenance and repair of all industrial equipment associated with the operation of the facility and production of chemicals.
• Leads and assists in equipment troubleshooting for mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Leads and assists in the fabrication, construction, installation, and modification of new, existing and customized equipment throughout the facility.
• Performs soldering and brazing for plumbing and copper piping applications.
• Performs general carpentry and metal fabrication work with a variety of materials.
• Performs equipment lubrication tasks with oils, greases, filters, pumps, and other advanced tools (ultrasonic tool).
• Performs basic facility maintenance tasks including cleaning, sweeping, and occasional snow removal and salting.

Associate’s degree or certificate in Industrial Maintenance and/or Engineering Technology
